Pkr.com – Showing Fear

www.pkr.com – Fear of having the losing hand is never something you want to signal to your opponents in poker. For some, sunglasses are worn to disguise any tells their eyes may give, but for me, the more of my face an opponent can see, the better.
I do not pay much attention to physical tells but if I notice someone looking at me to pick on a tell, I will try and very carefully give off the opposite signals.

Signals given off in betting patterns usually display fear or lack of it, far more clearly. If someone bets the flop heavily then checks the turn, it will often mean they have taken a shot at stealing the pot and ae now worried that they are beaten.
I think that for the most part, poker is a game where you should not be fearful of losing. If you think the correct choice is to commit your chips to hand and you go in front, of course you might still lose, but you have done all you can. In that case you might regret putting your chips in the moment you chose to, but would you really regret the decision if the deck was reshuffled then the hand replayed? The fact is that all you can do is put your chips in the middle when you think you are a favourite to have the winning hand by the end. Preferably you want to be a bigger favourite than 55% but in shorter stacked scenarios you should take whatever advatage you can get.

Do not be fearful of trusting your instincts, but of course try to protect your chips when you hav a strong stack too, because this is one scenario you can decide when to fight your battles. Pkr.com
