www.pkr.com – In terms of live tournaments, I have struggled to make final tables recently, partly perhaps, due to the fact that I show too much aggression in my play. Having given it some consideration, I have decided to tighten up my play when I next play a live game in a couple of days time, and with any luck this will prove a catalyst for better results.

In the last live game I played, I got a little unlucky when I picked up an open ended straight draw on the turn. I felt compelled to call a bet made by my opponent because there was a fair amount in the pot, and the bet was not overly large. I soon found out why the bet was small on the turn, when I went on to hit my straight on the river. I called a large bet on the river, only for my opponent to show that they had a full house already.

Despite the limited success on the live tournament front, I have found better results online which is strange, as I prefer live play generally speaking. I have had several final tables in smaller MTT tournaments, mostly in Omaha in fact. This goes to show that sometimes a change of game type can help you in poker if you feel your results are stagnating a little.
I shall perhaps play a few more online tournaments this week, sticking to the Omaha theme, and with any luck, my weekly live game will be better than my previous encounters too.  www.pkr.com
