www.coralpocker.com – When it comes to seeing a flop come down after we’ve folded a hand, we all know the feeling of seeing our folded hand hit perfectly. This will happen some of the time, but it certainly isn’t a reason to start playing hands that simply aren’t logical to play.

Despite this, it does serve as a reminder that sometimes, however worn down our chipstack is beginning to look, all it takes is a couple of all ins, with a little bit of luck, to be right back in the game.
That is of course one of the great things about the game, that you are never out of a tournament until that last chip is in the pot, and that final card arrives and chooses not to save you.

It is for this reason, that I always like to open up and play shove or fold poker when my stack gets very low. There is always a point in my mind where I refuse to let myself get any lower on chips regardles of the cards I am being dealt. The simple reason for this is that the lower on chips you get, the more double throughs you will need to be back around the average chips for the tournament. In my mind, there is a tipping point, where the risks I will have to take to fight back to a reasonable chipstack get too much. I feel there is less risk in the present moment, if I shove with a hand like (7,8) or (8,9) if you cannot find a strong hand. The reason I choose these cards is that you are very likely to have two live cards, and this means, you are never a huge underdog going to the flop. if you look at making this move with hands such as (A,5) or (K,10), you greatly increase your chance of being called by a hand that has you dominated.

So as far as my views are concerned, never hang on to your small stack waiting on that big hand for too long. Sometimes, you just might find you are better off shoving the chips in and giving luck a chance, or fate a choice, as the case may be. Coralpocker.com
