Blue Square Poker – This is a bigger problem I feel, when you have a relatively unskilled player hitting cards very well. In many ways this is far more dangerous than a very skilled player hitting well, because the way these players play their strong cards can differ greatly, with the less skilled players being more complex to read.

With these less skilled players, you can find them doing the most unexpected of things. This is where skilled players will usually win chips from them, but if your opponent keeps hitting cards, perhaps it is best to avoid confrontation where at all possible. If you feel that you must get involved in a big pot with this type of player, the reason you will feel this way is down to the strength of your own cards.

You cannot be too fearful of the worst happening if your cards are strong, and can only play them to the best of your ability, raising to protect yourself, and picking up pots early in the hand.

Whilst you can often say that a player has been catching cards when they need to in previous hands, luck is fickle, and that will not be the case in each and every hand until the end of a tournament. So play your cards strongly, be trusting of your reads, and try and exploit any clear mistakes in your opponents play.
