It has often been said in relation to poker, that you ‘play the man, not the cards’ there is some truth in this I feel. People never really understand just how many other factors are involved other than the strength of your hand, and how important these factors can be. Position is of course one important factor, when you are deciding how to play your hand, your decisions can vary a lot due to how many players have acted, or are yet to act.

The strength of your hand, or lack of it, determine the choices you make regarding your hand, and in this sense you do of course play the hand you are dealt. But if your opponent is the type who is timid about calling big raises, you aren’t going to steam in with a large raise, you need to think small to try and extract some money out of the hand. if you have no hand whatsoever against the same sort of player, then why not put in a bluff if you don’t think your opponent is strong. Bluffing is definitely an area where you play the opponent more than the cards, because it basically does not matter which two cards you are holding. You are purely judging your opponent to be in a position where they cannot call your raise.
With this in mind, you can see how important it is to have a feeling for what your opponent is likely to do and how important the people holding the cards are. What the cards are that these people hold, shapes the way the sparring and tactical battles of poker unfold in a big way. Basically though, there is importance in both aspects, and as a player, you play the opponent, and are guided by the cards, in my opinion.

Getting started at Pokerheaven is made simple enough by the online instructions provided onsite. players are carefully walked through the process of firstly downloading the software, and then subsequently depositing money if they wish. There is no obligation for new players to deposit as soon as they download the site though, as they are free to participate in all the games offered with play money if they so choose.

This is very helpful for beginners because they get a chance to sample the experience of playing onsite before having to part with any money.
Once the downloading is complete, a player is asked to register details with the site. Do not be alarmed by this, as it is normal practice and your details will remain secure.
Another aspect of Poker heaven which is beneficial to new players is the ‘how to play’ section. Although there are many players who are new to the site but will know all the rules, Pokerheaven ensures that those unfamiliar with any type of poker are reassured as to the lingo involved and the way the games are played.
If new players progress to opening a real money account they have a vast amount of cash tournaments and ring games available to them and will be rewarded for the amount they wager with real money in a loyalty system. This in turn gives rise to other bonuses.
So as you can see getting started couldn’t be easier, just follow the instructions online, and refer back to the diagrams if you get stuck. Support is available too if you experience greater difficulties, and you should find yourself playing in no time.

coralpocker.com sets it’s stall out well with some good value bonuses. First time depositors get a 100% bonus up to an amount of $600. Player points need to be accumulated to trigger the release of this bonus, but the bonus itself is still a comparatively good one.

The games on offer at Coral are average in their variety, with Omaha, and Stud available in high and hi/lo variety, and of course Holdem is offered too. MTT and STT tournaments are available for each variety, and there is a list of games with basic rules provided onsite.
Although the usual basic choice of avatars are used at the table, the graphics themselves look smooth and professionally done.
Many gauranteed tournaments with big prize pools are also ongoing throughout each month, with satellites open to give the chance of winning a cheap seat.
Fax, telephone, and e-mail support is available too for any players who are having problems with anything onsite, and is very efficient, the details of these can be found from the Coral poker homepage.
The fact that Coral poker is one branch of an established betting company you can be assured that all your transactions and details will remain safe.
there are a great many pleasing aspects of Coral poker, and I like the site myself. Any weaker points are scarce and do not take much away from what is in essence, a good quality poker site.

The software used by PKR and the poker experience it brings is truly something to behold. Everything that the poker player has become used to seems to have been taken one giant step forward by this poker site, and that is a wonderful thing to see. Where once before we had two dimensional tables and bland avatars, PKR has now brought us three dimensional rooms, backgrounds and avatars to create a much more lifelike and enjoyable experience altogether.

It has always been my feeling that other poker sites should adopt the same type of software and move with this advancement in the experience of online play, but if they have been watching PKR to see what difference such software makes to poker players worldwide, the results have been conclusive. PKR has a rapidly expanding following and this trend is surely set to continue. The cost to implement such software changes for other sites might be significant, but I am sure they will see this as a necessary move if they are to keep up with these advancements.
As much as I think the developments in PKR’s software are pivotal in online play I do have to mention the fact that this lengthens the download times, and also means that some older computer systems will have difficulty running it. This is not a problem for most players though, although faster computer specifications are preferable to enjoy the optimum experience.
Overall then, a great innovative leap forward in poker software and playing experience, one which I feel all sites will follow in time.
